Connected Alpharetta Recognized with Economic Development Communications Award

The City of Alpharetta’s Economic Development Department has been honored with a 2026 Communications Award from the Southern Economic Development Council (SEDC), earning Best‑in‑Division for the Alpharetta Community Guide. This recognition adds to the momentum of the department’s Connected Alpharetta marketing initiative, which has already received two awards from the International Economic Development Council.

SEDC, the largest regional economic development association in North America, annually evaluates marketing and informational content from member organizations across 17 states. Entries are judged on design, strategic innovation, and impact.

Launched in January, Connected Alpharetta is the department’s strategic marketing initiative to position Alpharetta as a premier destination for business investment and top-tier talent. The initiative introduced refreshed branding, an updated website, coordinated social media, an email newsletter, and new print collateral, including the award-winning Community Guide. Together, these tools showcase Alpharetta’s strengths and support the city’s continued economic growth.

The Alpharetta Community Guide is a print publication designed for business leaders, brokers, and site selectors. It highlights key factors that set Alpharetta apart, from its vibrant economy and highly educated workforce to its innovative business environment and exceptional quality of life.

This recognition by the SEDC further validates Alpharetta’s forward‑thinking approach to economic development and community engagement.
